Want to clone your hard drive? You can do it if you can use a screwdriver, don't mind opening your computer case, and can follow simple directions.
You will need a cloning program such as Norton Ghost and you will need an extra hard drive that can hold all your data plus leave some extra space for future use.

What kind of hard drive?
First, you need to know the total capacity of your current drive(s) and how much space is being used.
On mine, I simply go to My Computer to find this information.
In My Computer I find all my drives listed as:   A:, C:, D:, E:, F:, and G:.
A: is always a floppy drive and it shows a floppy disk icon.
C: drive is always the primary DOS partition; it shows a hard drive icon.
D:, E:, F: are called logical drives; they are located in the extended DOS partition. They also show the hard drive icons.
G: is my CD drive; it shows a CD disk icon.
It doesn't matter what I call C:, D:, E:, F:. Call them primary and logical drives or whatever, they are all a part of my total hard drive(s) space and they must all add into my total hard drive capacity.

Just remember that:
A: is always a floppy drive (if you had 2 floppies, the second floppy drive would be named B:. It's

seldom used now but if you installed a second floppy, your computer would automatically name it B:).

C: is always your primary partition on your Master hard drive. If you use one hard drive and it has one partition, that partition will be C:, if your one hard drive has more than one partition or if you have more than one physical hard drive, My Computer will show the primary partition as C: and logical drives as D:, E:, F:, and so on, as needed. These are all called 'drives' whether they exist in different partitions on one physical drive or on more than one physical drive. No matter how they exist, they all add up to your total hard drive capacity.

Following your hard drive(s) letter(s) listing in My Computer, the CD-DVD drive letter and icon will appear. Whether you have one drive letter C: associated with your hard drive or more letters (D:, etc), after the last letter assigned to a hard drive, the next letter(s) will be assigned to your one or more CD-DVD(s). That (or those) drives will show a disk icon.
